Calgary is the fastest growing city in Canada and has been known in the past as a center for oil and gas. Today it has taken on an added attraction in sports and is becoming more sought by tourists. It has light manufacturing. It was chosen by the Economic Intelligence Unit as a leading city to live in.

4 Canadian cities in the top 10, pretty nice; although two of them are in an 8-way tie for tenth spot - how do you get an 8-way tie?

Is Calgary the biggest City in the world????? 5107 km2.

The second largest is Ottawa @2788km2, then Auckland @ 1086km2.

After that it drops to an average of 163 km2.

Thats roughly 35 times the average size.
No wonder the city doesn't want to plow the streets when it snows.

Its kind of a mish-mash of information Forbes used and makes it inaccurate.

Calgary city proper has 988k, and takes up about 750km2
Calgary CMA is about 1.1 million, and takes up 5107km2

No wonder Calgary is so clean, over 4000km2 of it is rural!

There's a lot of garbage all over the place right now, the wind doesn't help though.

I think Saskatoon got over looked in this category, or was there a size requirement? A little big city that is very, very clean. I actually thought Calgary was rather dirty in comparison when I was there this weekend, I think the massive amount of construction doesn't help things though.

It wasn't that long ago that Saskatoon was rated the most beautiful city in Canada. It fell off the wagon for a few years but the last 3 or 4 years it has been a treat to live in.
