Default Rage Against the Machine...........Reunion??

http://www.coachella.com/

Seems they are gonna headline the Coachelle music festival in April. Who knows what will happen after. Maybe a tour?? Maybe nothing. All I know is that this is a long time coming.

I like their music, why'd they break up?

If my memory serves me correctly it's cause Zack de la Rocha had some personal problems with the band members and went off the deep end.

Anyways, I'm curious on where this leaves Audioslave...Cornell definitely added a more "easy" listening aspect to their amazing instrumentals.

Rage is so 1994. I hate it when bands come back, even great ones.

Any band that does concerts in support of police killers, I lose respect for them. Good music, bad message behind said music...IMO.

Didn't Zack de la Rocha go off to the Mexican jungles to join the equivalent of the Sandinistas or something?

I snagged some pre-sale tickets yesterday for $200... unfortunately, that was the last day for pre-sale so you'll probably have to wait until Saturday if you're looking to buy some. The lineup looks ridiculously awesome this year, I've gone the last two years and had a blast but this year looks utterly fantastic.

Makes sense...yeah I agree the set list is quite strong this year. I've never been, but I may go on the sole fact that Rage Against the machine is now performing...we will see though.

(ROCK-Rage Against the Machine-Reuniting)
Rage Against The Machine will reunite for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Rage, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bjork (BYORK) are confirmed as headliners for the festival, which will run from April 27th through the 29th in Indio, California.
Rage broke up and three-fourths of the band went on to become Audioslave, but Audioslave have no immediate plans to tour and Chris Cornell is working on another solo album.
Other acts scheduled to play Coachella include Sonic Youth, Crowded House, Travis, Rufus Wainwright and Fountains of Wayne.

I hope that they are reuniting! They were a great band, and audioslave is just not as good.

I know there were whispers of Cornell leaving prior to the release of their latest album. this pretty much confirms that.

Not a fan of Rage at all, but I would be hopeful that if it happens maybe Chris Cornell will call up Kim Thayill and get the beauty that was Soundgarden going again. I know Matt Cameron is a little tied up with Pearl Jam these days but that can be worked around.

That lineup is sick! I thought Crowded House had broken up too (there was a big 'final concert' here at the Opera House several years ago)... I guess they are reuniting???

Yep, Rage Against the Machine, Crowded House and The Jesus and Mary Chain are all reuniting for this year's Coachella. Add in bands like Sonic Youth, The Decemberists, Sparklehorse, Andrew Bird and Ratatat and it's going to be a ridiculously good festival.

Damn I wish I could afford to shell out for that...

I'm going to a festival here tomorrow, which has a pretty good lineup as well: http://www.bigdayout.com/lineup/artists.php

I was hearing rumors that they're also speculating about a possible appearance by The Police at this thing. Something about a password for something being "Roxanne". Talk about bands that split up getting back together.
