Well they are making a Maxwell Smart movie. Don Adams steps aside as Maxwell and funnyman Steve Carrell will take his place. If you are as big of a fan of Steve Carrel as I am then this is great news.

Steve was hilarious in his bits before he left the Daily Show, and he stole every scene he was in in Anchorman. He is also playing the lead for in the American version of British mockumentry the Office. I hope that airs soon.

Anyways, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425061/

Great, great, show. However they already made a couple of movies, and that was when the spy comedy wasn't really a concept that had been done more than a french whore in 1942.

Oh agent 99 how I do love you.

Steve Carell is a good match. But Don Adams will be irreplacable. The show is called "Get Smart" actually and there was a "New Get Smart" with Andy Dick as his son or nephew or something but Don Adams was still in it as Agent 66 and Agent 99 was his wife?

Did you know that Don Adams and Maxwell Smart were the inspiration and voice behind Inspector Gadget the original cartoon?

One of the joys of satellite TV is being able to watch Get Smart most days of the week.

Maxwell Smart: "Heimie, give me a hand with this will you?"

Squeak, squeak, squeak as Heimie unscrews his hand.

Well I'm too young to have watched it when it originally aired, but thanks to videotapes and, for a little while, satellite tv, I still fell in love with it. I was originally introduced by some of the books my dad has, which are just as funny as the real thing by the way. He wasn't number 66, though. Or was that just for this "New Get Smart" you were talking about, Hack&Lube? Anyways, I don't know Steve Carell well enough to judge, but it just can't be the same without Don Adams.

I thought Smart was agent 86. I remember first watching the show when I was in grade 4. That was the year we got report cards with letter grades and 86% was an A. So as a result my 9 year old mind devised the conclusion that Smart was given number 86 because he was an "A" student.
