Default Ipod software/freeware?

I'm looking for a software program that will convert dvds, divx , video etc.to the IPOD format so I can watch them on my IPOD.

I would like to transfer Hockey a Peoples History to the IPOD.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm, on second thought thats what I use for my PDA. Free version doesn't convert for Ipod video.

I was going to make a thread about this the other day because i had no idea how to convert them, but i figured it out. Inorder for videos to be put onto iPods, they must be converted into MP-4 format. Videora is an easy to use program...

http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

HOW TO USE VIDEORA:
1. Open it up and install it
2. Get on the convert page
3. You will see the "One Click Transcode" button click this
4. Browse the file and select it
5. Let it convert

When it was done and i went to add them to iTunes, i had no idea where they went. If you want to make them go into a certian file when they are done, or to figure out where they go after they are converted, go into the settings (the second tab on the left) i cant remember what its called, i dont have the program on the computer im on, and it will say something like 'Video Output" and that is where your videos will be sent to.

Sweet, I just got a Ipod video so Im going to have to check that out.
One Q, I have quite a few vids on my computer right now, I would like to convert them to this mp4 for my ipod, but dont really want to of the same file on my computer then. Will I be able to play the video on my computer still (exactly the same as before)?
EDIT: well I tried it and the video wouldnt play in WMP or winamp... although transfering it did reduce its size almost in half. Is there a program I can d/l so they would play?

Im not to sure, you probably can, but I can still play all the videos I converted normally, as if I never put them into a different format. I have a folder for the ones on my iTunes, and then a folder with all my other videos, and they play the exact same. I dont know why it wouldnt play in the WMP or winamp format?!

itube is awesome!!!
Makes me wish I had one of those suger huge HD ipods now. It would be cool if instead of mp3's on them, they were all music videos.
I just d/l a few flames clips, music videos and a mitch Hedberg set. Im preparing for a trip soon (first with my ipod!) anyone with some good ideas of what to put on it?

If you haven't had enough of Borat yet, there's a slew of his clips from the Ali G show up on YouTube...

This all works great. Just read the forums there on how to convert DVD's to IPOD and it works perfect.

Alright... so we have the videos down...

What about uploading contacts and calandars. I know it's supost to work with Outlook, but I'm not a fan of that program past using it for email. Has anyone found anything else that can be used for uploading these informations?
