Default I need some help...

Okay, so here's the problem. Our school's hosting volleyball provincials this year, and I was asked to run sound for it. Being the nice person I am, I grudgingly agreed.

So we're going to use this program called Game Ops Command 3.0. Now it's a great program and all, but there's one little snafu. All of my music is in iTune, and has virtually all been converted into AAC format. But the program doesn't recognize them. The only thing it'll recognize is: .wav .mp3 .mid .mp2 and .wma. So is there any way I can convert my AAC music to one of those using a different program? I don't really want to download 4000+ songs again, and I don't want to convert them all back to .mp3 and then back again once I'm done with it. If there's any program that will do that, I'd be forever in debt to the person who points me in the right direction!

Be careful!
You might be better off downloading the songs you want fresh in MP3 format, at the highest bit rate you can find. AAC and MP3 are both lossy formats, in that when you edit or convert them they lose a lot of quality. This may not be discernible on your laptop or home speakers, but on a school or club system it may very well sound like crap. If you are going to convert be sure to check it on the system at your school well in advance of the event!

Okay, thanks for the tip Shaolin...yeah, we are gonna do a couple test runs at league games before provincials, so hopefully all the bugs will be worked out.

On another note...how can I get that program to add my library all at once? Or should I just send it all to one big folder or what?

We just looked at it today, and it's an amazing program. Virtually idiot-proof. And it's made exactly for in-game music. It's so easy to use it's ######ed. The only qualm I have about it is the fact that the music can't be in an AAC format.

I'm not sure what it's worth though. We tried to call the company today to buy it, but of course it was after 6 in the east, so it was a no go. But they have a 30 day demo that I'm using right now to learn the program..

ARRGH! I'm back where I started now! I don't want to buy this stupid conversion program personally, cause, well, I'd never use it. But it only lets me convert 2 songs a session 'cause I'm only using the trial. So is there...I dunno...a crack or something for it? I don't really want to have to reboot the program 124 times to convert the songs...

###! Back in the day when I sold electronics, you had to have a demo CD ready to go. Guys would have something they made at home from MP3s, and then try and demo $1000 speakers. And then wonder why they lost the sale.

Get the better quality source.

Dude, iTunes can do it for you! It may take some time to process, but it takes less than a minute to get going.

In itunes, go to File - Preferences - Advanced - Import: Then change the format from AAC to MP3. Then hit select-all (ctrl+c) in your library and then right click and select "convert selection to MP3"
Do that, it may take a good couple of hours depending on you CPU speed and # of songs, but it will work. Each song will be duplicated, so your AAC ones will still be there and fine.
Once you are done, simply select all MP3s in your library and delete! (Sort by filetype or date added to get all the new MP3s together!)

Voila!
