I thought it was great, really well done. Not a spoof of zombie movies in the same way that Scary Movie is a spoof of horrors. Basically just two idiots who don't even realize that there's a zombie 'problem' till about half way through the movie.

"She's sooo drunk!"

Great flick, go see it. Girls will probably appreciate it too. :P

Yeah I saw it on saturday... it was great. I think you have to be one of those people who really appreciate british humor though. I thought the acting was really good during because the serious parts were very serious in the middle of a totally ridiculous film.

I strongly urge anyone who enjoyed Shaun of the Dead to check out the original 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead. Althought Dawn isn't a comedy I laughed much more than I did during Shaun of the Dead. The comedy in Dawn is just like a cherry on top of the greatest piece of chocolate cake with different layers of goodness.
The grainy look, the 70's feel, the music by Goblin, the cool one liners, the unforgettable zombies (including the hare krishna zombie), the coolest hero next to Bruce Campbell's Ash-Ken Foree, the gore by the master himself Tom Savini(some of the greatest gore ever in film bar none), I could go on and on. Scene after scene in this movie has something jaw droppingly cool(Wooley going apesh*t, the first zombie appearance in the ghetto apartment, the redneck target practice, shopping scenes and the biker raid etc etc.) In my opinion it is the greatest movie of all time. SEE IT NOW!

Finally saw it last night. Great film--they did a good job elevating the tension and gore throughout, yet keeping it funny all the way through. While it was never really, really scary, it had some definite dark moments and tackled certain issues with more realism than most zombie movies. Not that realism is what you're looking for in a zombie film generally, but still...

I do wish they had used L7's 'Pretend that We're Dead' in the soundtrack as it is in the trailers, but that's a minor nitpick.
