Graphically I'd give it 4.5/5. Very very pretty.
Game play wise, 3/5. I'm pretty unimpressed with it, it's the same thing over and over.. Though I guess you could say that about ANY FPS, but the good ones usually have neat things that set them apart, or a great story. Doom 3 has neither (so far anyway).
It's not that scary, they just make monsters that stand in the shadows until you come near then they walk out, or they have hidden closets in the walls that open when you pass them so the scary monster can jump out and hit you. THAT was a big suspension of my disbelief.. why are those hidden rooms there? For no other reason than to hide a monster until you pass...
And the fact that you can hold either a gun, or a flashlight, but not both?! Get some tape and tape it to your gun, or your head! Your a marine and the year is 2195.. but they can't think of a way to light your enemies so you can kill them.
Level design is kind of nice (though railroad linear).
There is a multiplayer, but so far it's limited to 4 player only. MOD makers will be able to make maps for more though.
There's no XBox version yet, it's due out before Christmas.
It's out, just not in stores until Wednesday

I don't mind picking it up a few days early though instead of waiting until it's physically in my hands.
