that guy had like less than 10% reconviction rate for his prisoners!
there was a special in the calgary sun awhile back, and he was on tv - 60 minutes i believe. loved the interviews with his former inmates, many of them now friends - sorta.
interesting stuff for sure. i believe the original reason for the tents was no money for a real jail, so why not alcatraz it? fences yes but LOTS of desert, good luck...
and having to use exercise bikes for power is innovative, if not downright sociologically interesting (keeping the prisoners occupied, less violence maybe)
as for the thread relevance, i honestly don't know if i agree with having cameras to humiliate the prisoners publicly, maybe a little too 14th century for me
