Default Rambo IV in production

In the latest sequel, John Rambo is pulled out of retirement in Bangkok to help find missionary aid workers who disappear as they're delivering wheelchairs to his fellow seniors at the old age home in neighboring Myanmar.

When will Sly retire?

I think Cheese has it wrong. I believe it's Rocky Balboa vrs Hollywood Hulk Hogan. In this corner blah, blah, blah and in this corner blah, blah, blah and Ladies and Gentlemen Let's get ready to Rumble for the vacant WBA(Wheelchair Boxing Association) heavyweight title of the world.

This could be alright, I loved the first 3 but then again I haven't seen them for at least 10 years.

Why would they even think of doing this. You would have to pretty drunk and high to even think of doing this.

Because they are very much devoid of new ideas in Hollywood. Read any writeup of what they think is bold and innovative like the one in the Herald today.

Goes like this : Wow isn't this something and how they have gone over the line and way beyond the rules. What does it amount to --they have increased the dialouge from f you to MF you ya dumb ****** loving piece of whatever. Then they point out that wow in this film we show a guy screwing this bimbo for like 10 minutes from all angles. The reviewers then say wow isn't this just bold new territory that these guys are going to.

Ahhh we have had porno films or films filled with swearing as an excuse for dialogue for years. Wow so impressive.

That little rant just an aside to the question. Movies remind me of television -- it has gotten steadily worse. The best TV is now the niche market where there are some writers who actually know how to write dialogue and ditto movies.

So unless there is some kind of dramatic influx of talent into the making of movies/tv they are going to go with retreads/clones as often as possible.

I know I'm like a lot of people in the last at least a decade and I've expanded my search for quality tenfold at least by necessity.

I think it would have been fun if he went back to Afghanistan, but Burma could be interesting too. I think he should sneak in and release Aung Sun Suu Kyi from house arrest and use his vast arsenal to restore democracy. However, I would be surprised if this movie actually did any sort of job bringing to attention the fact that ethnic minorities in Burma get absolutely ****ed on by the ruling ethnic group. Rambo isn't known for contributing much to global awareness.

you know, until i clicked the link, i really thought you were kidding here.

i'd heard that rambo 4 would be afghanistan again, going after the taliban (or being so old that going to the source of opium was a way to get some cheap painkillers for rambo's arthritis...), kind of hoped my childhood home of lillooet would be graced by sly once more.

lillooet looks like afghanistan, played it in rambo 3.

First Blood was a great movie which has been forever tainted by Stallone's poor decisions to go forward with mindless sequels.
