Pretty lame if you ask me. Do we really need to edit out smoking from old cartoons. How long until they decide to digitally edit out smoking from old black and white films.

Dumb.

I agree, this is pretty stupid. Apparently one complaint from one person, and they are going through the entire catalogue? That's crazy. But that is Time Warner for you. They are all about censorship.

if they want to keep with the times maybe they should "insert" some drunk driving, promiscuous sex, broken families, meth, and other fun stuff from our times!

I'm not a fan of sanitizing history like this, but they have already done this to numerous Looney Tunes films. Any place where a gun would go off against a character's head has been edited (so no more Daffy getting his beak shot to the top of his head!). I think the originals are still around, just getting rarer by the day.

That saying is so wrong and really has to go. Anyone who says "If it prevents just one <insert horrible thing here> it is worth it" in my presence gets slapped in the head by me.
If slapping one person in the head prevents them from saying "If it prevents just one <insert horrible thing here> it is worth it", it will be worth it.

I know I always hated that too.

Hey I have a better idea.
If you want to stop one child from smoking, try taking care of your children instead of letting the TV raise them.

it is part of history and art. They should not be censoring cartoons like this. I am sure Hannah Barbara is the reason all kids light up nowadays.

Totally. I smoked 3 cigarettes in my whole life. And each time, it was because I had stressed out friends, and it made them feel better that I had a smoke with them. It was the grossest thing ever, but I did it. Otherwise, despite watching and loving all those cartoons (who framed Roger Rabbit, with the baby smoking was awesome!!) never tempted me.
