Default Carburetor Help

Hey yall,
Ive got a quick question.
I've got a motorcycle that is running a little lean right now (honda shadow), and I need to adjust the air fuel mixture, but the only problem I have is I'm not sure which way to turn the pilot screw.

So my question for you guys is this, (I assume most carburetors are the same) does screwing the pilot screw in decrease the air fuel mixture (ie add more fuel and make it more rich) or dies it increase the air fuel mixture (ie reduce the ammount of fuel and make it more lean).

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
