Wow,
I can't believe people would laugh if they saw someone doing this.
Pretty sure if I had seen this guy doing this, he'd have been on his back pretty quickly.

I think that is a disgusting display... and exactly what is wrong with this country.
Whether you agree with the politics or not, those tough veterans risked and lost their lives for your sorry ass and that commands respect.

Just the other day I had the chance to talk with a D-Day Veteran. Stuff like this sickens me. I'm not the biggest fan of Canada and have no plans of staying here permanently but that is an absolute atrocious thing to do. I'm very surprised he wasnt beat down for that.

I can't believe that people cheered and laughed at this. What a bunch of dirtbags.
I wouldn't cry if somebody crushed them under the treads of a tank

Wonderful, wonderful people. Instead of a guard like the Legion wants we should have a sniper to remove thm from our gene pool.

Its one thing to be disgusted. It is quite another to ruin your own life because some jackass is behaving like a jackass.

I think people are reading this wrong.
"Retired Major Michael Pilon says most people cheered and laughed when the photos were taken Saturday night. "
I think this means the people taking a **** were the ones cheering, it was agroup that was doing it. I don't think that the people around were cheering.
What a bunch of dumb asses these guys are though. Did they really think the vet was taking pictures for his home photo book?

I hope when the cops finnally catch him that they beat the **** out of him....and then pretend like they never caught him!
Or fly every vet in and have them **** on him...it makes me sick to think people would think that was funny!
I mean being a kid once I remember doing stupid things...but go light some fireworks off or raid your dads liquor cabinet...dont **** on a memorial for the people that make it reasonable for you to be alive!!!

So now we are getting into violating someone's constitutional rights?
The cops would investigate any complaint, and the crown would prosecute for two reasons: 1. nobody wants to risk their jobs, and 2. you can't allow vigilante justice for any reason.
Trust me, I've seen this kind of scenario happen for a much, much, much, much, much, much, much more heinous offense. The police and crown apologized for doing what they did, but they still went after the attacker because that is their job.

I agree Snakeeye, I think most of the vets would roll over in thier graves if the Cops beat the crap out of these guys and it was buried under the rug.
For the most part the vets of WW1 and WW2 on some level either understood at the time what they were fighting for, or figured it out after years of reflection.
For the most part I think the vets would be happier if these guys were caught, tried and forced to scrub camp urinals in banff with thier toungues.

Terrible.
I'm hardly a huge fan of the military, but those guys sacrificed so much, and honestly, what a lack of class and respect.

From what i saw on the news last night, the memorial looks like its in quite a public area. The guy was probably drunk and being an idiot... Not an excuse... but I have a hard time anyone would take a leak on a war memorial sober and and cheer at a vet taking their picture doing it...
then again.. human stupidity knows no bounds...

One charged for mischeif, the kids, probably nothing except community service.
I say for all 3, send them on a 3 day trip over to one our bases in the middle east.
Let them hang out there for a weekend near the front lines and give a speech to the camp as to why they are there.

The tomb should have a perminant guard. There are always going to be knuckleheads, and it would show respect. Most soldiers in the Canadian forces would gladly volunteer for the honour of taking a shift guarding a war grave.
The US has a perminant guard at Arlington for the tomb of the unknown soldier. It is a pretty amazing experience to see the deference that memorial is shown.

What do you expect from a bunch of brats who obviously had absentee parenting. BC has a holiday for draft dodgers, you can urinate and burn the flag, you can use a religious symbols name as an explative but cant draw cartoons about another.
Its Canada, thank goodness I live in Alberta.
