Game Thread or Election Thread: which will have more activity?
Topic says it all; which do you think will be more active tonight?
And what moron scheduled an election for the same night as a fricken' BoA?!

I say game thread because it's BOA... and because election results won't come out that quickly

Ha!
I wonder if anyone has made a photoshop of Harper serving up the Kipper special? Now *that* would be funny.

I won't be in either...I'll be too busy watching the game until 9:30, and then doing one of two things:
1) Having a beer to celebrate the end of the tyranny (that's a hard word to spell), or
2) Registering with an Alberta separatist party after putting a 3-wood through my TV screen
As for your question, I predict game thread will have more observers, but election thread will get more posts.
Do I win something if I'm right?

Hope people in liberal and NDP ridings aren't as sore losers as you or we will have 6 or 7 countries where Canada used to be soon.

Since they are no longer allowed to announce the results in any riding until all polls have closed, definately the game thread. The election thread won't get any activity until 8:30 because that's when polls close in BC.

I really hope not, I'll be watching the % of the popular vote in Quebec that the bloc gets tonight as closely as anything else - If the Bloc gets more than 50 they are going to think they have a mandate for another referendum even if they are only voting bloc because of the liberal sleeze.

Out of curiosity then... how do you view the 55% plus that Conservatives have regularily received from Alberta? (To no effect lately...) Not as important?

I'm not totally clear on what you are asking - but I am just wary of what another referendum means for Canada's future and also our economy. Alberta conservatives are not directly voting for a party with a mandate to separate - I totally respect the right of anyone to vote for whatever party, I just think that you don't leave when it's your guy who loses - solely an opinion though.

If the Liberals find a way to win this, I do believe you will find not one, but two regions that will now be considering a separation referendum. There is no "sore loser" aspect to it, it is just a reality of time. IMO.

Somehow I don't think it'll be an issue tonight.

8:00 actually.
I expect the game thread will have more activity early, the election thread later. I expect that the election thread will have more total activity when all is said and done though.

Either way all poloticians are bull****tin' liars, its just which one we feel will do it the least. I'd rather sit and (hopefully) enjoy the Flames game than waste my time with watching those bags of useless skin parading all over the screen of the tube.

Isn't it a little premature to be posting that, Kevanguy?
Kind of like saying the "s" word when there's 10 minutes left in the third...
Well done on the photoshop though.
