Not a big fan of the line up decisions tonight, but what do I know, I'm just some couch potato.

Have a good bounce back against the Blues.

Hopefully Bahl is OK.

I liked Gridin and the Frost line tonight. We just have a very tough time scoring.

And please for the love of God, play Parekh over Bean or Hanley.

People think they can’t tank with Wolf. Hanley and Bean might just be enough

That looked like what expected last night to look like.

I saw a lot of smart plays by Gridin again tonight (including gifting Coronato an absolutely gorgeous chance right before the 3rd goal against).

Hope McDavid and Draisaitl each put up hat tricks on VAN on saturday.

You know, since we don't have the guns.

When the refs view the 2 boarding plays as equivalent, you suspect the hockey gods are not with you on this night

Coronato misses on a glorious feed and the puck goes the other way and in

When Bahl gets blasted in the head, is lying prone, Wolf is on his ass, and the puck bounces right to a Canuck, the hockey gods have spoken

Last night they were with Flames. Start the car
Tonight, not so much. Burn the tape

Flames hung around but didn’t capitalize on their chances early enough and it caught up to them. Actually didn’t mind their game for a good chunk of it. The wheels fell off quick though.

Tired group looked tired.

Some bad goals, fluke goals, and goals right after the Flames missed a glorious chance. It wasn't really a 5-1 game IMO. They didn't deserve to win but it was close and they came in with a clear disadvantage coming in late after playing the night before.

Flames barely gave up a scoring chance until the third period

Effort level was there, but the Flames got the short end of the stick on a couple calls/bounces. For the same reason Gridin made the team (to provide offense) I can’t help but think Parekh offers the best opportunity to spark a little more threat from the entire roster. Man I wish Rasmus could step it up and improve his value (and contribution towards wins). Silver linings are Frost & Farabee are both more dangerous looking than last year.

Maybe both things are true.

And saying it was stupid to rush out and extend a mediocre coach for no reason is not saying you should fire him after 2 games

Copying my post from the game thread:

Meh, we all should have seen this coming. 8 rounds shootout, on a plane to Vancouver, and playing again in less than 24 hours. The deck was stacked against the Flames tonight.

Take the lessons that better have been learned and move forward.

Yup which would have been a good reason to put fresh legs in like Honzek, Parekh

Can we finally put to bed the idea that you can play the same goalie on back to back nights and not expect any drop off in performance?

The non-major call and goal assisted by Bahl's ear was ridiculous.

Seems that in back to back games things are prone to going off the rails that way in a hurry. At least they broke the shutout.

Stupid scheduling to start.
