I've been voting Yegorov for a while ... is it finally time?

How long do the Flames have Lipinski's rights for?

He has flatlined stat wise year over year, but who knows, maybe he finds his game in the NCAA.

I'm between Say or Yegorov. Say has an NHL contract. Could be the only one left on this list who ever does. Seems to have fought and clawed his way to a pro deal. Yegorov is a Russian mystery box.

Lipinski for me. I didn't like this pick at the time, but I was pleasantly surprised with him at camp.

However, no progression + probably no path forward for him with the Flames unless he dramatically turns things around has kept me from voting for him until now. Even then, I think Say and a couple of other prospects may be ahead of him right now, but it is a toss-up.

The redeeming quality for me is that once he gets to college, it may be a wake up call for him to see how far behind he may be with his footspeed, and with the reduced schedule, he will have more time to work on it. I hope he does. I went from looking at him as a complete throwaway pick, to thinking that there is something there, to now believing he has almost no chance at this point left. Everything else about him seems interesting - the size, I argue he seems to have good IQ, soft hands - but he needs a great amount of improvement in his first two steps to have a shot at an NHL career.

Say just signed an NHL contract after a successful college career. Lipinski someday hopes that happens. Advantage Say. He also has had a better progression than Yegorov.

I'm out after this round as I know too little about the remaining names.

Good work CP! Aside from Honzek being waaaaay too high (prove me wrong Honzek!), I think we did a pretty good job.

You make way to much sense. I already regret my vote for Yegorov.

I think there's still some uncertainty there, but I believe that once he becomes an NCAA player, the Flames will hold his rights for 4 years after his draft (June 1, 2027), or until he leaves college -- whichever is later.

Even though he's well down the depth chart. Goalies are voodoo.

Say had a good season in the NCAA, but he's older at 24. But goalies are weird, and Tim Thomas didn't cement himself as a starter until he was 32, so he still has some runway.

I went with Yegor of Yegor. It seems the Flames have hopes for him and plan to bring him over once his English improves.

I think they weren't entirely pleased with how his Russian team deployed him last season, and the push to bring him over coincided with some upheaval in the CHL/NCAA agreement and subsequent player movement. His English is very good apparently (you were probably thinking of Zarubin).

Jakob Leander sounds like Hurtig 2.0. I've been starring at that list for a couple weeks and I think it finally has kicked in that he was from this last draft.

What makes you think that? Having a 3.15 GAA in the MHL doesnt shout, lets bring this guy over to me.

Reggie's correct, I mixed up Zarubin and Yegorov.

My next 3 are Lipinkski, Leander and Say.

I might even be undervaluing Say. While he is 24 heading into this season, Goalies develop slower. His GAA and win% over his 3 years in college arnt great but his SV% is pretty damn solid. He only wins 35-40% of his games the last 2 seasons but has maintained a .920 and .913 SV%. Kind of wild, interested to see how he plays on the Wranglers who have an insanely deep team.

I actually found these lines you posted, im so hyped for Wranglers hockey this year

Basha-Kerins-Gridin
Stromgren-Honzek-Hunt
Suniev-King-Ciona
Bell-Bishop-Frk

Solovyov-Brustewich
Grushnikov-Miromanov
Morin-Kuznetsov
Poirier-Jurmo

Cooley
Sergeev
Say

I went Yegorov, but I like Lipinski a lot. If he can bring his mobility up to at least an acceptable level, he actually has a ton of serviceable traits that would serve him well in a checking role- size, physicality, defensive acumen, and faceoffs.
