Ducks' Off-Season Summary
The Ducks had a relatively quiet off-season, but still have made moves that we think improve the team over the long-term.
Trades
IN
W Eklund (72)
N Danielson
S Solberg
8th Overall pick
TJ Brodie (68)
C De Haan (68)
3rd (FLA) 26'
OUT
K Kaprizov (82)
D Cozens (72)
R Kumpulainen (2nd round pick in 23')
27th Overall pick
The Kaprizov is obviously the biggest move of the off-season. It was done to free up cap space and to create some more depth in the organization. We still have a strong Top 6 so hopefully it doesn't hurt the team's ability to score too much.
Draft Picks
Brady Martin
Porter Martone
Jackson Smith
A small but highly skilled group of players were added to our farm system. We'll give them time to properly develop.
Free Agents
Ilya 'Frickin' Mikheyev (70)
Stefan Nosen (70)
Dylan DeMelo (71)
Connor Brown (67)
Jared Woolley (Kings stand-out defensive prospect)
Simon Zajicek (Bruins signed this goalie in the off-season)
Jack Stockfish (College free agent hopeful)
Tim Washe (College free agent hopeful)
Jake Richard (College player, Sabres draft pick who has looked strong)
Semyon Vyazovoi (Kraken draftpick, recent KHL Rookie of Year)
We were able to land players in each of Batch 2, 3 and Batch 4 to help build out our 3rd and 4th lines as well as 3rd pairing on defense. All were done at good value contracts.
We also added some prospect free agents...these are long shots but they're worth taking a chance on.
Will likely roll with this roster into the regular season, barring some improvements to our Top 6.
