I was wondering if they would. I figured he was on the bubble for getting one.

Come home Jake!

There is a Flyers fan that comes around here sometimes right? Wonder how he looked to their eyes playing there?

I know Florida has shown a template with a big 4th line, Pelts is small and not a stereotypical 4th liner but I think he can help move the puck in the right direction in that setting- if a team is willing to think outside the box size wise. he's not a top8/9 option though really

I didn't think he would last there. Just not a good fit. He's a tricky player because his production isn't great and he's small. So it's hard to define what exactly he is at the NHL level.
That being said, he seemed to be well liked in the room in Calgary, and was starting to do better here.
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back as the de facto 13th forward.

I am sure he will sign with a team like Buffalo.. or he may even pop with a team like Carolina.

Yeah I can see him coming back to Calgary, but almost nowhere else. He has some value with the chemistry he has in that locker room. Maybe a 1-2 year show me deal near league minimum. Even then I'm not sure it's a good idea.

After that, you'd have to cut bait. There will be several forwards looking for opportunities on the big club and he might be in the way.

He would be a decent signing for cheap and see what happens for him. But he's not currently fitting in the top nine, and the fourth line is already fullish with Kirk, Klap and Lombo.
Low risk signing if they want.

Canes already have too many small forwards and gobs of them in the pipeline.

I don't think a pop is coming with Jakub.

He needs to carve out an NHL career as a guy who can slot in as a swiss-army knife type guy, as a 13th/14th forward.

But as a regular middle six type person. Nope.

He reminds me quite a bit of Freddy Gaudreau

He's quite a bit bigger though, so teams can imagine him in a bottom 6 role.

I wouldn't mind bringing him back on the cheapest cap hit of a 1-way deal. Need to move someone else though to make that happen.

I don't think he is an NHL player. Not enough skill to make up for the lack of size. It sucks, because how can you not love the guy.
