Saw Utah won their first game but didn’t see Tij Iginla play. Anyone know how his camp is going? Also saw Pujujarvi had a hat trick lol

Utah scored an own goal on their empty net. Something that most teams do once a generation they did in their first game.

Utah plays their first game at the Delta Center on Monday night, so they probably held Iginla out to make his debut at home.

Funnily, it's their only preseason game at the Delta Center and was originally scheduled as a Kings' neutral site preseason game (which they have held for a couple of years in SLC) before the Coyotes move was finalized. Their other "home" preseason games are the game they played on Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa, and on October 5, they play the Avs at the Maverik Center (which was the main hockey arena at the 2002 Olympics -- where Tij's dad won a gold medal a few years before he was born).

Markstrom allowed 2GA on 19 shots thru 2 periods. Devils lost to the Islanders 4-2.

That is odd for them to go two preseason games without having a look at arguably their top prospect.

Tij Iginla has had what officials are saying is a minor hip injury, so he's missed all of rookie camp and the start of training camp. He's been with the team but not on the ice. They're hopeful he'll see some action towards the end of preseason.

Also for anybody interested Valimaki was paired with Sergachev most of the game tonight.

Anyone getting major Gaudreau vibes from Hutson in MTL?
He reminds me of Johnny when he arrived on the scene in terms of skepticism over his size vs pure skill.

Anyways...expect to see his name on the Calder IMO. He is already their top D man.

That was also the first goal that the Utah Hockey Club ever scored!

Hutson is gonna be a star. His creativity and skating are off the charts.

Lmao on the Leafs/Sens broadcast just now, the color announcer just referred to Marc Savard as an offensive guru (as he drew up a play with the goalie out).

Yeah, not here.

A guy I'd like the Flames to watch for is Zac Jones in New York. He needs to go on waivers if sent down and I'm not sure there is room for him on the blueline. He's another offensive dman, that the Flames have a lot of coming. But if given a choice between signing Barrie and claiming Jones - I would claim Jones.

The key difference is Huston has to prove he can also defend. His offensive attributes are unquestionable, but is he MA Bergeron or someone that can be trusted to log reasonable ES minutes.

With a forward it's different, because you can shelter them more easily. Dmen need to defend. Hutson needs to show he can.

That being said - I'm a massive fan of his and think he's widely entertaining.
