the 6'4" power forward spent the 2022-23 campaign with the whl's vancouver giants where he recorded 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points in 43 games. The 18-year-old slovakian also notched four points (1g, 3a) in four playoff games for the giants.

No, but going back 40 weeks from his birthday means he was likely conceived in the midst of a Flames 4 game win streak in February as Kiprusoff returned from injury. Don't know why I felt compelled to look that up, but probably a good omen.

I could see him playing some to get the experience and then going back to the WHL before game 10 to finish the season. Then next year, training camp determines if he starts in the AHL or NHL.

How does it work if he doesn't make the main roster? He's 18, so he could technically stay here and play for the Wranglers, no?

There is a loophole for Honzek to play in the AHL this year, but it only available if his Euro team loaned him to the Giants, which hasn't been reported.
