After Burner talked about whether having a guy like Gilbert really makes it necessary to go out and get someone like Schenn. I'd agree with Rhett in that there isn't a big difference play wise, but I suppose having another guy thats been through a cup run recently doesn't hurt. Still, seems to be plenty to like from Gilbert in that 6D role.

Edit - And worth noting that the Canucks are holding Schenn out of the line up tonight. Gulp.

I think Gilbert is much better than Mackey. Not sure why they sent Duehr down.

My opinion is based on their massive inconsistencies I don’t think they should spend a lot before the deadline. If they can pick up some depth players for next to nothing great. But don’t break the bank on a 50/50 chance at even making the playoffs.

Sureloss probably posted this somewhere else, but I came across this from Julian Mackenzie re Kylington. It's not much of an update but it is dated Feb 21st and he's working out, it seems at least anyway:

"Kylington (personal) is staying in shape on his own but doesn't have a timeline to return to the Flames, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.

Kylington has been away from the team all season while attending to a personal matter. The defenseman is no guarantee to be back before the end of the season, and he has maintained his privacy during the situation, which has led to a lack of an update from the team on his status."
