Ford sync with my touch frozen screen - help

Ford sync with my touch question. 2012 Focus SEL hatchback Screen is locked up currently, worked fine but was told to do reset after purchase and now its locked up in black screen. USB ports aren't charging either. I see 2 fuses that should control the system.

1. 7.5-amp fuse #67 for Sync multi-function display, GPS, Compass

2. 15-amp fuse #79 for Radio, Nav, DVD, Touch Screen, hazard light switch, door lock switch.

To perform a reset should I pull both of these fuses and run the car for a while without them in then put back in and run again for a while?

System is eligible for an update so booked an appointment but if I can get the screen working, I will try the update from USB and save a couple hundred bucks. currently running Sync 2 version 2.11

Is there a soft reset in the manual like holding down the Power and skip forward buttons until it restarts?

What about just disconnecting the negative terminal for 20 mins or so?

I've tried the soft reset. at this point I think I'm going to pull both fuses and see if that works if not then I guess disconnecting the negative terminal

off to dealership I go. tried removing both fuses first - nothing.

Weird because it worked fine just not the bluetooth connection so read to do master restart and not it's locked on black screen, Radio or the my touch screen do nothing, 12 volt usb chargers also aren't working.

if you go to the dealership and it is big dollars try reaching out to ARA Automotive and see if this is somehting they handle.

They are located in the ford mytouch repair shop zone not far from the 39th av c-train station

Had a similar issue except that the screen was intermittently on - managed to do a reset of the entire system and hasn't had a problem since. I know that Ford quoted me something like 2000 to get a new entertainment unit. So I hope it is better for you

Thanks, I would just do aftermarket if that's the case. can get aftermarket for $500 with a backup camera. might be better to just do that since it's $200 for ford to just look at it.

Update, With help from Minnie (Thanks)! I was able to discuss with Ford Tech. I found a stereo from a newer car that was also running sync 2 and swapped the entire thing and everything works, no dealership programming needed.
