Thumbs up Support our ICU workers

https://devourcatering.com/product/i-see-you-icu-gift/

My wife saw this today, and we are sending over a few meals. We have no connection to this place. It just seems like a nice thing to do, considering how hard they are working, and probably won't have a chance for a good Thanksgiving meal. Plus it beats heckling them outside their work place.

Feel free to post any other options in this thread if anyone else is doing something similar.

I've read that hospitals aren't allowing outside deliveries like this. It's a great idea but I would make sure they'll get it before I ordered anything.

Hrmmm, that's a good point.

I've asked them, will report back.

Here's a news article about this company delivering to ICU workers so they seem legit.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calga...ages-1.6199563

The proper link is: https://devourcatering.com/product/i-see-you-icu-gift/

Seems like a straight up savagely smart business move.

1. Tie your product to a heartwarming cause under the guise of charity
2. Promote your product to good natured people trying to help in a pandemic
3. ???
4. Profit

For $15 a meal I doubt she's making much. I might order a Thanksgiving meal to make sure she's rewarded for the good deed.

Ya shame on a catering company, who has probably struggled to survive the pandemic, finds a way to help people and remain in business to employ others. Just the worst.

No savage is having an American style "Remember 9/11 at your local Toyota dealer with 9.11% off a new vehicle!!!!"

This is a company saying you pay for the food and we will cook and deliver.

Full transparency I donated and am happy they are doing it. Those folks desrve it after this year.

Devour did the catering at my wedding.
The owner is amazing and they did a great job, really went above and beyond and basically did a lot of what a wedding planner would do (renting chairs, helping decorate, even returning other rental items they had no connection with/to for us).

This is a pretty nice gesture, and it's a good business, both things worth supporting if you're so inclined.

Ya, sorry haven't heard anything. But that CBC story linked above doesn't indicate it being an issue. I presume they are now so busy they may take awhile to get back to me. But I'm not concerned about it.

Thanks Fuzz.

Going to donate personally and I've also sent it up the corporate ladder to see what we can do as a company.

They absolutely do. We used them for our Christmas dinner last year actually.

As an ICU nurse, I just want to say thank you very much for all of your support! We are indeed very tired physically, emotionally and mentally but we have a duty to provide the best care possible to all of those who come to us whether they are vaccinated or not.

The well wishes, the kind words and the encouragement that we have been getting and receiving has been overwhelming! It certainly makes a difference reading school children’s notes and jokes that they’ve sent to our unit. On behalf of my colleagues from all the Critical Care units in the city, I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Thank you CP!

Thank YOU so much for your efforts, we really do appreciate it, and I think about what you must be going through every day.
