I think Bert surprised ALLOT of people when he was here .
Nolan was awesome and you could tell he had the respect of everyone.
I think back to John Tonelli who wasn't so much a reclamation project but worked his ass off.
I liked Steeger as well. Still enjoy listening to him on the radio.

Not the best, but Igor (Gary) Kravchuk ended up being a decent waivers pick-up for a season and half. The year we claimed him was forgettable, but the following season he played great. Really good guy who apparently really liked Calgary as well.

I remember thinking that for the half a season after we picked him up, but then being pretty OK the next season.
It would be cool if advanced stats existed for players back then.

One of the best UFA signings the Flames ever made. Great player and leader on the ice. Brought some respectability back to franchise after being able to lure one of the top UFA prizes that year.
