Default Best veteran reclamation pick up in Flames history

Im going with a tie between Brendan Morrison and Owen Nolan. Was gonna say Hudler but he really wasn't a reclamation when we acquired him.

Does Jagr count? Because if he counts it was worth it just to own a Jagr Flames jersey.

Nolan was awesome and you could tell he had the respect of everyone.

I think back to John Tonelli who wasn't so much a reclamation project but worked his ass off.

I liked Steeger as well. Still enjoy listening to him on the radio.

Tanguay went from 37pts in Tampa to 69pts in his first season back in Calgary playing on a cheap deal

I'm not going to say of all time, But I think the gamble on Talbot turned out pretty good.

I thought Owen Nolan was good when we got him, probably not top of this list... Or am I misremembering?

Not the best, but Igor (Gary) Kravchuk ended up being a decent waivers pick-up for a season and half. The year we claimed him was forgettable, but the following season he played great. Really good guy who apparently really liked Calgary as well.

Not really a reclamation but the Roman Hamrlik era was a strange and wonderful time

Indeed, that was fun. Especially the playoff game he won? after kipper got lit up and pulled

I remember thinking that for the half a season after we picked him up, but then being pretty OK the next season.

It would be cool if advanced stats existed for players back then.

One of the best UFA signings the Flames ever made. Great player and leader on the ice. Brought some respectability back to franchise after being able to lure one of the top UFA prizes that year.

I like it when we reclaim our own

Vernon
Tanguay
Jokinen

and not so much when we reclaim Oilers

Fuhr
Smith

Could never vote Bertuzzi, wish he’d never have played here.
