Can’t question his GAS meter; the dude tried but just doesn’t have NHL hands. Wish him the very best, cheers Nordy!

He was good on the PK and showed some speed as a bottom 6er but we need to upgrade on his 1G, 7P if we want to improve depth scoring.

Here I thought he was going to take over Brett Ritchie's spot on the top line right wing

Thank you to Nordstrom for his hard work and honest play in the last year.
Best of luck in Russia.
Now hopefully they don't give this roster spot to another non-productive vet.
Use it to let a younger player develop. Knowing the Flames, I know this won't happen. But we can hope.

Would guess he was already told he wasn't coming back.
I liked him defensively, but one of the worst "with the puck" hockey players I've ever seen play for Calgary. Just terrible.

Not concerned at all. Replacement level player played like a replacement level player, so that means he's easily replaced. I'd rather have a kid from the farm get a chance in that spot to start the next year. I don't think Nordstrom added a whole lot TBH.

Thanks Joakim Nordstrom but I hardly know who you are and you played 44 games here.
I think I'll be disappointed to see any of our current UFAs and RFAs back on the roster next year.
That's actually a good quick way to improve the team.

He was so bad. One of the worst players I have ever seen in a Flames jersey. And that's saying something.

You ever see Anders Eriksson?
I’d also throw in James Neal, relative to expectations

Oh yeah. But Eriksson did some things right (and a loooooot of things wrong).
But at least a few things right. Nordstrom was essentially less useless than a full blown enforcer from the past.
Blech. Terrible.

Finding a good, cheap energy guy who is effective on the PK shouldn't be too hard. If you don't have those in your system, you're in trouble.

I didn't think he was terrible. He's similar to Blake Comeau in that the effort and skating is there but at least Comeau could finish on occasion.

I didn't mind his game for the most part but his non-existent offense won't be missed. It's too bad, if he could pot a few goals here and there he'd be a great 4th liner.

Meh. He wasn't the worst but he also barely got over the competency bar as well.
This years roster was a mess. I'd like less plugs on the team.

This isn't fair.
He wasn't good offensively, but he was a very good defensive forward.
NHL wide for forwards ...
94th in CA60
55th in SA60
83rd in xGA60
That's a solid defensive player. No hands at all though.
