Holy crap! Too bad. Having gone to the University of Windsor (right across the river from Detroit), her name was always in the media there. Sad days.

I too was unaware she was alive, although she should be payed the respect she deserves for standing up for her rights.

Her solitary action really was a microchasm of what Dr. King preached and put into practice. Non-violent protest. She started it all and for that, she's just as important to the civil rights movement as the great Dr. King was.

I hope that she passed satisfied that things had improved in her lifetime and hopeful that they would continue to improve.
