Looking very likely that Riley Sheahan will sign a one-year deal with the #Oilers shortly. He’s a 27-year-old, left shot centre who they’re hoping will be their 3C this season.

900K for Sheahan

Holland knows him well from his time in Detroit. I'm surprised Vanek hasn't signed a cheap contract with Edmonton yet. Let us not forget the time the Oilers signed Vanek to an offer sheet when he was still in Buffalo.
The Oilers are banking on him to score 10 goals so they can make the playoffs.
Maybe they're hoping he replaces Reider as the obvious scapegoat. He went almost a full season without a goal, only to get 2 in the final game (dressed for 80 games that year).
Austrian media recently reported he's still mulling his future. Could return for another season somewhere and has had offers, but is looking for the right fit. Family is also a factor (wife and kids still live in Minnesota). Can't see him go to Edmonton, to be honest ... but that could just be wishful thinking on my part

Holland is getting the old band of Red Wings castoffs back together it seems. I say keep at it. Maybe some Xavier Oullet would work wonders on that D. Or maybe som Martin Frk would solve the RW issues once and for all? Get it done Ken!
a year ago he had a 32 pt season playing behind Crosby and Malkin. (15 minutes a game) won 54% of his 1000 faceoffs. Played in all 12 of the Pens playoff games that year 29 NHL playoff games in all. 6-3 214 Had a 36 point season with the Wings as a 22 year old.
Someone should give Magnipane and his agent Sheahan's phone number and point out that is the contract that Magnipane should expect in 4 years if he steps up and doesn't mess up his career with a hold out with 54 NHL games and 5 playoff games under his belt.
