A great road game by the Flames at least offensively
|
Not even close. A great road game by a good playoff team is getting a lead in the first and shutting down the other team. Your goalie stops the 3 chances the other team gets in the the last 2 periods and it is hard to pick the 3 stars.
The Flames are tied for 8/9 in the West with Minnesota using Pts/% .
Bringing in Riitch seems a bit desperate at this time. The organization has a grand total of 3 NHL games played by goalies (115 minutes) outside of Smith/Lack.

"At least offensively", you actually quoted it.

You don't think a caveat of "at least offensively" was sort of suggesting the same thing?
You are so tiresome.

Defensively sloppy, forwards need to come back way further in the offensive zone for breakouts especially with a one goal lead in the third. They can tighten that up.

I lean to the optimistic side for sure, but the biggest worry for this team was offence. Instead they have a high octane line, a classic possession line, and now a third line that is getting chances.
The goaltending upgrade has been on point.
Now it's down to unforced errors and mistakes. I'd rather have that as the issue from a group that reportedly cares, then a massive hole in the roster and no assets to fill it.
