Default April 2, 2017 - 10 Games

It's an unusually busy Sunday night in the NHL, with 10 OOT games.

3 were this afternoon and are already complete:
  • Boston defeated Chicago, 3-2. With the win, the Bruins leapfrogged both the Leafs and Sens and now sit in 2nd place in the Atlantic. They have played 2 more games than both Ottawa and Toronto.

  • The Islanders defeated Buffalo, 4-2. The win puts the Islanders 5 points back of the second wild card spot with 4 games remaining.

  • The Blues defeated the Predators, 4-1. The loss keeps Nashville one point back of the Flames with only 3 games left.

There are five games currently underway:
  • Pittsburgh leads Carolina, 3-2, in the third.

  • Minnesota leads Colorado, 4-1, in the second.

  • Tampa and Dallas are tied at 1 in the second.

  • Washington leads Columbus, 3-0, in the second.

  • San Jose and Vancouver are scoreless early in the first.

There are two games yet to start:
  • Philadelphia @ NY Rangers starts at 5:30pm MT.

  • Arizona @ Los Angeles goes at 8:30pm MT.

Predators played their 5th game in 7 days and failed to clinch a playoff spot

I think their magic number is 1

The Preds' magic number is 0.5. An LA loss of any type tonight would put an "X" beside Nashville's name in the standings.

He's halfway to Joe Thornton whipping out his you-know-what.

Back to back games against Vancouver might be just what the Sharks need to get out of their recent funk.

Joe Thornton hurt his knee. Doesn't look good, being helped down the tunnel.

Thornton left the ice not able to bear any weight on left leg after an unintentional knee to knee.
Went right to the room.

Good to be back and catching up on the OOTs and what happened in the NHL on Calgarypuck! I was at an international health conference in Washington State since Friday morning and was totally immersed in it until it ended earlier today. There was limited time with internet access so I only found out scores late at night.

That Arvidsson dive, wow. Hopefully takes some of the (undeserved) heat off Gaudreau.

This Sharks v Canucks game seems like it's being played in slo-motion. What a snoozer.

The Rangers hang on to win 4-3 in regulation time over the Flyers. It was 4-1 midway through the final period until late when the Flyers scored twice in 51 seconds to make it close.

The Kings are officially eliminated from playoff contention with their loss to the Coyotes.

West is set with positioning in standings left.

Holy crap that kick save by Quick might be the nicest save since the Scorpion save by kipper. Wow that was a beauty.
