Leafs had a long ceremony but pretty much started on time. Better than Edmonton

Connor Brown scores for TOR, then Kadri and Backes fight right off the faceoff.

Yup, that's the proper way to do it. IF you want a long ceremony, knock yourself out. But do it early, don't force the rest of the country to have to sit through it.

Ditto.

Toronto has a lot of pure talent. They're going to be exciting to watch for a long time.

Can you imagine what the Flames would look like with either McDavid or Matthews?

Leafs finally get a goal from a non-rookie after the first 6 coming from newbies

Thought that Marner goal was pretty special. He tapped that puck through his legs going full speed and made it look really easy.

Also have been impressed with Nylander. I think he looks pretty slick out there.

Matthews is the real deal.

have the Habs-Sens game on and the announcers are talking about Dennis Wideman playing for Ottawa. After about two minutes they correct themselves - it's Chris Wideman for Ottawa. They had me hopeful for a minute there.

At least Chris Wideman has two points tonight, I'd be pleased if ours would do anything useful.
