Default Telus Outage - Need Suggestions

hi all - have had fibre to my new build home for the 3 weeks we've been here. Service went down at 930am today and called tech support. they had no idea why, ran through the usual 'reboot the modem' crap, and then scheduled a tech for a week away! ridiculous and far too long.

So I am looking here for some thoughts - i have FTTH and an ONT that brings phone, internet, optik TV to the house. the phone line still works, and if I turn off the ONT I lose my dial tone, as expected. SO there is no problem, I don't think then, with my fibre connection.

However I cannot get an IP out of my ONT! I tried my own router, the telus router - nothing for going on 12 hours!

Can anyone give me some suggestions on what I can do while I wait this eternity for telus to come?

Where are you located? I'm in Okotoks and haven't had any issues on our fibre.
