Out of the trade options, Varlamov might be the most appealing.
Reposting this table again:
Closer to middle of the pack, but on par with Bishop and Mrazek it looks like.

I would be okay with this.
28 years old, proven starter, 3 years at $5.9 million remaining.
As Ashasx mentioned I am pretty sure we are inquiring about all the starters in the league.
6th + 54th for 10th + Varlamov - probably would be something worked around that as a starting point you would think.
At the same time I think I would just prefer not making that move and signing Reimer.

But faces a lot more shots, according to the blue, correct? If the Flames continue to have one of the worst shots against in the league, Varlamov can keep them competitive.
If they improve on shots again, Varlamov could be a top goalie in the league?

For trade options, Varlomov or Mrazek are what I'd want. If not go for Reimer
Is there any substance to these rumours or are we just hearing the results of Trelivings knack of leaving no stone unturned and asking about everybody

i pondered this very option two days ago in the trade speculation thread.
I can see it make sense for the Avs who like both Berra and Pickard. Get the pick of the litter of D men trading up to #6 and clearing Varlamov cap to go after some UFA D and resign Barrie and others. It's a logical fit IMO. And the Flames don't really fall out of their window of prospects either.
