Icon48 John Scott named All Star MVP

2 goals, a hit on Kane and a "fight" what a night for him. Really proud to see how the players embraced one of their peers for what will truly be a memorable night for John and his family. Well done and way to stay classy.

The entire 2016 All Star event would not have been as exciting and fun without him.

NHL did a good thing. Nashville was awesome. The picture the NHL can stand by for years to come is Scott hugging Sutter's kid after the victory. Still don't agree with it, but the outcome was more than anyone could imagine. Well done NHL, the players, the coaches, the City of Nashville, and the Scott family.

yeah, no.

Great story, good for him, still a terrible hockey player in a dying/dead role.

Probably the swan song for his hockey career, as I doubt we see him in the NHL again.

But a great moment for him and his family, and a great way for it to end this weekend with his team mates loving every minute of it.

Awesome outcome, couldn't have had a better outcome.
I'm prepared to eat crow, having Scott there made this way more engaging.

Not even as a 7th-8th defenseman?

It's a bit fascinating how this all worked out from the NHLs perspective. If they never fight his involvement then he likely doesn't become the fan darling he ends up being at the ASG, no real underdog story if he just gets voted on with no resistance. Hell, the early resentment from fans about him wasting a spot that a kid like Domi should've gotten would've likely been the prevailing sentiment. Instead he turns into this massive underdog story, partly due to the league's handling of it, the way he was traded and just the way he carried himself through it all... then he even manages to have a halfway decent couple of games 3 on 3 and he's an easy MVP pick.

The Marketing department must be having an orgy right now
