The seventh place Islanders need to win this game as they are only two points up on the Flyers and Red Wings. The good news for the Islanders, despite their recent slump is that they are only five points back of the Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Senators are in a must win situation as they are seven points back of the last playoff spot. Fans who want a canadian team in the post season are saying, "Ottawa, you are our only hope."

The Islanders lead 3-0 after two periods. Martin and Nelson scored 21 seconds apart later in the second period.

The Rangers lead 2-0 after twenty minutes. Zucarrello and Stepan goals were both on the power play. Yandle assisted on both of them.
