Default Roast of Rhett Warrener

Anybody going to this? Bought my tickets last week and I'm pretty excited for this event. Boomer will be hosting the event.

Mods if this thread already exists please delete this one, the search I performed did not show any

These are always cringe inducing. I could never attend in person and sit through hours of third person embarrassment.

Do the children attend and throw rotten fruit at Rhett? Because that seems a bit over the top.

Yeah, they mentioned a lot about how NO footage would be allowed. Too bad, sounded like a great time.

And for Jebus sake, who has Rhett's tux?!?

Rhetts tux was found a couple days ago. It was at the front desk of the hotel.

Haha good to hear, thanks. I didn't catch yesterday's show due to work being a gongshow, I'm actually surprised it turned up.

I attended the show and it was a lot of fun! Except $9.75 for a bottle of Kokanee was highway robbery. The Sheraton staff was disorganized, long lines for tickets, only one drink ticket line, too crammed, waiters barely came to clear dishes and bottles. Boomer was pretty funny but he kept going for shock humour (Graham James jokes, Regehr car accident/burn victim jokes, etc). I really liked Regehr and McLellan telling stories. Lot of hate for Alex Tanguay!

was it actual hate, or just kind of ripping him for fun?

Lol Jebus! Regehr bus accident jokes??

I know roasts are all about pushing the envelope, but I thought in more of a "you're a piece of crap, and here's why" followed by a low blow about your personality or appearance. But not ripping about a tragic accident where people you know were killed. I guess I'd have to hear the context, maybe it's not as bad as I'm envisioning after reading that

Nobody Reggie knew was killed in the accident, two occupants of the vehicle that struck Reggie's car by crossing the center line and hitting him head on. My friends grandfather was the coroner at the accident. Up until his death a few years ago he could not believe Reggie survived the accident with just the two broken legs and the other injuries incurred.

Yeah I'm realizing now I got Reggie's car accident mixed up with Joe Sakic's bus accident with the Swift Current Broncos when several players were killed. Think the whole Sasky hockey player surviving a horrific pre-NHL auto collision and having a long successful career thing mixed me up.
