With suppliers like XM or Sirius, do you still only get the supplied stations (listed on there sites) or are there lots lots more? I was under the impression that there were thousands to choose from from all over the world...

Just the ones listed. And if you plan on going for the Canadian system, we might not get all of those.

Well, people said the same thing about cable TV in the 60's and 70's. Now if somebody doesn't have cable, they are the exception.

You call it decline, I call it advance.

I know Sirius is commercial free. Not sure about XM.

Who here wouldn't pay $13 per month to never have to hear another calgaryjobshop.ca commercial?

like the other guy said, back in the 70s, they were saying "WHO WOULD PAY FOR TV?"

yet now shows on HBO are some of the best on TV. likewise, this will eventually become the way with satellite radio.

for example, why would talented and popular radio hosts that are nearing the end of a contract want to go back to commercial radio, which has become very artistically stifiling due to all the FCC regulations, the amount of commercials you have to play per show, etc., when they could go to satellite, do their show how they want, and not have to deal with people breathing down their necks that they might upset advertisers with edgy bits or opinions and so forth.

satellite radio has yet to realize its full potential, and, as a subscriber for about a year now, i can say that it's pretty great already.
