Icon46 Daniel Sedin gives his All Star game winnings to Canucks training staff

James Mirtle @mirtle
Daniel Sedin gave away all his all-star game winnings ($91,000 U.S.) to the Canucks training staff. What a class act.

That is very classy.

I hate the Sedins on the ice but they appear to be great guys in general.

One thing about the twins, they are fantastic at helping others when they are away from the rink. Awesome gesture by him.

Man, it says a lot about Canuck suckage that having two awesome guys like this on their team for so long still did not make them classier.

I hate how the Sedin's play for the Canucks. They are so Linden-like in that you just cannot justify hating them.

Classiest guys in the game.

How many guys are on the training staff? I would imagine a half dozen? $15k/person is a very nice gesture. I know I'd love that.

Agreed. Perfectly acceptable to hate on guys like Burrows and Kesler (when he was there - and even still now), but the Sedins are great players and even better people. I always get enraged when people call them the 'Sedin Sisters' - that's just lazy and ignorant.

No kidding, you've got these two guys that are just classy and upstanding as all hell but its tough to eradicate the stench of the rest of the pukes.

Negative. Disagree.

Way too many 'soft falls' and pick plays.

The twins are good dudes especially off the ice. The diving has somewhat tarnished what would otherwise be considered classy on and off the ice.

I had just assumed that the players wouldn't pocket the money. Then I watched the game and not a single person involved suggested that the winnings would go anywhere charitable. Am I the only one that thinks keeping the money is a bit selfish?

Kudos to Daniel.

Classiest guy in the NHL. Both Sedins are classy, too bad they play for the Canucks.

If not for the fact that the Sedins play for Vancouver, I'd have no troubles cheering for them on any other team not named Canucks, Oilers, and Leafs. The two just seem like good people.

Its a tough call, Sedin has made how many million?

Scott should probably hang on to it

JG will get a big payday in the future but its probably easier for a 10+year vet to give away 90k

8 people according to the Canucks website. With today's exchange rate it would be roughly $15k CAD per person assuming he gave an equal share to all 8 people
