Default False Alarm at San Diego's Naval Medical Center

They posted this on their facebook page, Scary stuff.

"An active shooter has just been reported in building #26 at Naval Medical Center San Diego," Tuesday morning's post reads. "All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight."

http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/26/us/san...ing/index.html

Hopefully it can be rectified without any deaths.

It sadly is. It simply blows my mind how a country as advanced as the USA has issues like these so regularly.

I think the USA is a great place to live, but I just cant fathom the infatuation with guns, and the culture of fear and racism. I know many, many people in Canada with firearms that don't worship them like so many "2nd-ers" do.

I was more surprised that a new thread was started for this than I was that there was a shooter/shooting in the states.

Sad.

Watching CNN so it could be way off, but hopefully this is correct--it kind of looks like this was a false alarm.

The place is still under lockdown, but the nearby schools are not.

No reports of casualties or anything, and the last they said is that the person who originally reported the three gunshots that started the whole thing is now being interviewed.

That being said, there are still cops all over the place with their guns drawn.

I agree 1000% and I'm a gun owner in AZ. Couldn't give 2 ####s if I had to turn them in.

Investigators have found "absolutely nothing" to substantiate a report that gunshots were fired in the basement of Naval Medical Center San Diego on Tuesday morning, Navy Capt. Curt Jones said.

However, authorities still are going though the building, and it will take a long time to finish their search, he said.

He said he'd characterize the person who made the report as "someone who thought they heard something and made reports."

If there is any hint that the person who reported this did so with the intent to create an incident, they should face some pretty severe consequences.
