Default On This Day in 2003...

Craig MacTavish yanked out Harvey's tongue. 13 years later, I'm still laughing.

Ah, this was back in the days when Harvey would still climb on the glass and do semi-dangerous stunts for cheap laughs.

New Harvey is such a wuss.

I remembered when Harvey almost ran over an ice girl with an ATV during the 2004 playoff run. Safe to say he never got to ride an ATV after that.

Yup remember that too. That nearly had a very tragic ending.

I was at that game, and the following game where the Flames handed out "Rally Tongues!"

Yeah, he used to be a lot more fun.

I still kind of remember him playing in a mascot game where he yard saled another mascot who's head flew off.

I also remember when he used to beat up a blowup doll dressed like an Oiler.

Mascot football at stamps games was by far the best halftime show of all time. Especially when they would try to throw to the mascots with no arms hahaha.

Maybe if the Flames stayed in the basement for a couple of years they would need to resort to more entertainment and let Harvey off the leash. While I am partial to Harvey I think that Benny the Bull is my current favorite.

I got to play mascot games during arena football at the dome back about 20 years ago. I couldn't hold the ball with both arms and running was out of the question. Unfortunately it was a short lived job, really wish I could have made a career out of it.

There's a better story when his head got knocked off in a similar situation in one of those games with sponsors mascots. Long story short, he physically confronted and threatened the guy in the dressing room after. Basically, he figured it was ok for him to run around and nail guys, but when it happened to him (by accident in this case), he was ready to go with the guy in the dressing room.

The guy who knocked his head off, said "Hey, calm down "Harvey", you touch me and one call and our account is done with the Flames". Maybe it's the way it's told, but calling the guy, sans masoct outfit, by the name "Harvey" seemed humorous.

That particular "Harvey" wasn't very bright. There were a few times when he had his stupid tshirt gun and tried to fire it across the ice just before the play started. Not enough compressed air, and the tshirt didn't make it across the ice and a linesman had to pick it up.

The above mentioned ATV issue too.

Pretty much a non factor now, outside of banging that drum during games.

Everything's toned down...no longer is it the "Big Guns" Ice Girls, wearing shorter or lower cut clothing when they debuted. It's now the Fire and Ice girls, wearing unflattering clothing 2x too large.
