Default Calgary Flames | Four Game Road Trip & Discussion (Make it or Break it?)

The Flames are off to what looks like a very confident team but can they continue it on the road trip? This is looking to be a hard road trip for the Calgary Flames, which I think can either turn around this season completely or stay at the bottom. How do you guys think we will do? Do we see Micheal Ferland back in the lineup or Joni Ortio redeemed during a back-to-back game?

Last 10 Games:

Florida Panthers: 2-5-3

Tampa Bay Lightning: 3-5-2

Washington Capitals: 8-2-0

Chicago Blackhawks: 6-3-1

The Flames will come home from this trip in a playoff spot.

My guess is that Ortio gets the start in Tampa Bay.

If they can keep up the same pace of play that they've had the last couple of games they could definitely win two. Maybe more but I'd be happy with a split on this trip.

If the Pittsburgh game was more of the Flames team we have this year, we give Chicago and Washington a run for their money and breeze through the other two.

They have to be feeling confident right now, and Florida is a great team to continue that against.

If last years team was any indication of who these guys are, they have all abilities to sweep this trip.

flames are 3 points out, so not at a point of throwing in the towel on the season.

Realistically, flames need to be at least 0.500 on the road trip in my opinion. Going 2-1-1 would be ideal. These games are against the East teams.

Flames would help themselves more by performing strongly against their divisional games and against teams fighting for the WC spots in the west.

Go Flames Go!

It sure feels like they front loaded our schedule with Eastern teams this season.

Good in a way - lots of divisional 4 point games later on. I think it'll help them claw back into the playoffs.

It blows my mind how bad the Pacific is. We should be 7 points out of the last playoff spot and planning our draft picks at this point, not 7 points out of the Division lead and 3 points out of playoffs.

As bad as we were to start the season you have to think things are turning around. I won't be surprised to see us in a playoff spot in the next few weeks, and chasing LA for the lead by Christmas.

The 4 game homestand at the end of December is make or break it time.

I think 3 wins is possible and pretty necessary. At the very least take WSH or CHI to OT.

Chicago looks beatable, but at some point they are going to turn on the jets and shake off the Cup Cobwebs.

WSH looks unbeatable at times, but maybe we get Holtby's backup?

By the end of December, the playoff picture is usually pretty set. So that homestand might be a little to late to recover anything.

As long as they play the same way they did against Pittsburgh. That's all that matters to me...

Washington might be the best team in the league right now and we do not match up well against them. Though the Flames must be looking to make up for that horrible effort against them last time. Chicago has some pretty major warts atm and they are very beatable as you say.

Hoping they go 3-1. Need to gain some momentum in the win column, I see no reason they can't do it.

I was thinking the same thing.

This road trip, I'd like to call the 'Are You For Real?' trip

The 3-game home-stand against Anaheim, Arizona, and San Jose at the end of this month is 'Put Up or Shut Up' at home

And the home-stand you mentioned really does look like a solid 'Make or Break'
