Default Dave Parker passes away aged 74

Back when I followed baseball as a kid in the 80s Parker was a monster.

The throw Parker made in the All-Star game was absolutely incredible:

Not a bad tag applied by Gary Carter (one Baseball Hall of Fame player to another).

yeah around the time I started following baseball-say 1977- I'd say he was THE man in the NL (Schmidt was likely the better player but not quite recognized as such at least until a bit later) but either way Schmidt and Parker terrorized me as an Expos fan for years

great player. whether he meets the Cooperstown bar or not, he's got his entry and it certainly didn't cheapen the standards. sad that he didn't survive to induction day

I love how much they all cared- as you say incredible through, great tag, another HOFer Sutter celebrating with Carter, Pete Rose miming the out signal at first base- used to be THE all star game in sports
