God that woman is an idiot... in fact, no one respects Canada thanks to people like her. We hate the US but we sure love eating at their trough to get re-elected.

Just resign already, and shame on whoever has dumb enough to vote for that "politician."

I'm not defending this politician in any way, but please explain "we sure love eating at their trough to get re-elected".

Well, 86% of Canadian Trade goes to the south... when their demand is up, we do better as a country. Everything America does is very good for our economy, and politicians say its cause of them and get voted in for it.

If these people really hated the States, they'd be doing everything they could to find more trading partners to send goods to.

Therefore its like eating at their trough... US buys our goods at a good price, economy is good, politicians use it to be re-elected. Its not the best analogy, but it fits.

How in the hell do people like her get to keep thier jobs, she seems to be intent on damaging any relations that we have with out neighbour.

For a country with the amount of great, smart and talented people, its sad to me that we can only attract utter morons to government services.

This woman's not suited to work at burger king.

The thought that we have the liberals in power for another term makes jesus cry

Yeah, she was stupid to say it, but I think her "idiot" comment was taken out of context.

Second of all, she is just speaking her mind. Sure it could cause some instability with the US, but Im sure they have thick skin. Afterall, sometimes the truth is what really hurts.

They showed it on Global news. What she did was call the Missile Defense Shield as being from the "Coalition of the Idiots". Afterwards she denied calling them idiots and actually begged the reporters not to air the footage.

What an idiot. I think Martin or the party whip really has to boot her this time. Once in a media scrum is one thing but strolling out to Parliament Hill and supporting a bunch of protestors (that are for a position contrary to your party) really ought to land you in the sin bin.

What else would you expect from that savy, headstrong bunch that is the Liberal Party running the show down at clown college in Ottawa? People waste money, cheat, run their mouths, etc, and nothing is done about it. Our country is fast becoming an embarrassment everywhere and we're lucky we're so irrelevant on the world stage now that people just don't pay attention to all the stupid things our government does.

"You idiots.... Open the borders please..." is right. This really helps with our already strained relationship with the USA. How long until people figure out how incompetent the Liberal Party really is and stop giving them all, or a good sized chunk, of the power in parliament?

Yeah because the odd Refor....errr Conservative Party member doesn't let the odd racist remark fly or NDP member take off to Palestine.

I don't think its the Liberals in this case so much as that politicians are just daft in general and love a good soundbite.

BS
Just because she begged the media not to report it doesn't mean she was misquoted or quoted out of context.

I saw the video, it was pretty clear she meant just what she said, plus it's not the first time.

Was she a Chretien loyalist?

It was a stupid thing to say, but at the same time, there's a big difference between catagorically slamming Americans in general (as she did with her previous comment) and categorically slamming people who support a particular policy. I think it's fair to question the logistics of a missle defense shield and suggest that those who support such a policy are not thinking clearly.

The problem with her comments is quite simple - a junior member of Parliament is setting foreign policy for Canada.

Everyone has an opinion and everyone has a right to an opinion but I don't think she's high enough up the pole to be putting out comments like that in public.

The place for her to express that particular opinion is in a caucus meeting. That's where she could impact government policy on the matter.

At least, I'm sure the Liberal Party Whip is going to tell her that. Just as the Conservative Party Whip would tell their wayward souls the same thing.

So? That view is shared probably by the majority of the world. Does telling the truth hurt?

Does saying that you're a left-wing nut hurt? You've more than denied it each and every single time it's been mentioned. Sure it might not be true, but "that view is shared probably by the majority of the" off-topic board. Does that soften the blow any?

"There is no room in this debate for that kind of language," he told reporters, waving his hand dismissively. "You're going to get very strongly held views but let me tell you those strongly held views have got to be expressed in language that is acceptable."

But Parrish refused to back down.

"That's Mr. Martin's opinion," she told Reuters. "No, I'm not going to apologize.

Pesky little hate-monger isn't she?

I will let the clown comment go, but what I can't stand is the fact that you say the Liberals running their mout. Outside of this and a few other slip ups they are the most proffesional party we have. How many people in the Conservative party have said stuff they should not have, it was rampit in the election race. Ie. Rob Anders, being the only voter to vote agains Nelson Mandela's honorary citizen ship is a way bigger deal.

How about your Premier Ralph Klein....need I say more

So don't go off on the whole party because of one moron...and if you do, do it. Take a look at your mess of an opposition.

Edit: changed post could not find anything to back it up

Yeah and headline for that article on the front page says "No Love Lost". Nice.

A public firing is in order. Martin shouldn't be such a candyass. Of course he really can't afford to give up her seat, so...

Excuse me

How many conservatives have accused residents of Kelowna of burning crosses on thier front yard? Answer Conservatives 0 Liberals 1

Which Prime Minister stated that he couldn't deal with Albertan's because we don't think right? Oh yeah the Liberals

Which party has a member of parliment that has for a second time called a close friend and allies idiots? Oh and a hint she's a liberal

Which Prime Minister lied about sitting down and having conversations with a homeless man? Do the initials JC ring a bell

The Liberal's have never been professional

Look at Sheila Copps, look at the back fighting between Martin and Chretian, look at Jane Stewarts record, and look at the gun registry. Oh wait what about Oulettes statement, or the liberal appointed governer General

Oh yeah real professional party.

These guys are so fat and arrogant from sucking on our teat for so long that they think thier unbeatable

And they are as long as people are stupid enough to vote for them

What a joke

Sorry that you feel that way. But you lost credibility with me when you started name calling.
I said it was the most professional party we had.

I don't feel the same way about the conservatives.

I would rather have my PM lie about talking to one than have my premier get busted making fun of one
