Wow. That was fun to read.

If Hiller were to put together a season like that, the Flames would be contenders.

I liked it until I got to the third round of the playoffs. I'll go out on a limb here and say that if they do win the President's Trophy, they'll go all the way to the Final.

Funny that they have the Oilers improving by 16 points yet finishing one spot lower in the overall standings.

Quick notes for those too lazy to read the link:

Flames go 50-24-8 for 108 Points and win the Presidents Trophy. Lose to Dallas in the WCF.

Hiller gets 45 Wins with 9 Shutouts and a 0.927 Sv% and 2.13 GAA.

The Flames should bring Keith Kinkaid to camp on a PTO.

Wait, he's not a player made up by EA?

Oilers finish second last. Seems spot on.

So they only ran the simulation once? That doesn't really tell us much, I can do the same thing when I get my copy of NHL 16 tomorrow and it will have completely different results.

A cup would be nice. But I'll take the season title if we can't have the cup. Thanks EA.

Leafs finish ahead of Montreal and the Sens are the best team in the East.

I'd be okay with that but yeah, not gonna happen. I'm guessing in this sim Carey Price dies in a plane crash or something?

He's wearing the Hiller jersey.

If we have very good defence and Jonas has progress with Sigalet this year, those kind of numbers aren't completely unplausible. I noticed Hiller's side to side movement and positioning is a lot better than the start of 2014 season - his pushes off the skate have become much more explosive but also more controlled. You'll see it when watching him in the net cam in real-time.

Hiller has 3 things to shake and then he can be a Vezina candidate:

1 - Stay focused (no soft goals)
2 - Don't cheat off the post (and get beat short side)
3 - Don't wander out of the net too much (free goals against if he hot potatoes it)

Towards the end of the year and in the playoffs, he had cracked down on 1 and 2 a bit better, but then fell apart and did all 3 vs VAN in game 6. So hopefully he can take another step this year.

Will do! Do you think it deserves it's own thread or should I just include it in this one

The article was nothing more than off season click bait that suckered me in by mentioning video games and Stanley Cup predictions. Jared Clinton's position at THN does not make his simulation results any more relevant than the average person's results simming a season.

Now if someone had run the simulation 1000 times I would be interested in reading about that.

To be fair, Dallas looks like a monster of a team to me this year. I have no qualms what so ever with the Flames losing in the WCF if they get that far.

Proabably the most potent offense in the league if they stay healthy.

If all you came in here to do was criticize a fun and silly thread that predicts the Flames to win a presidents Trophy through a VIDEO GAME Simulation, then maybe you should make a thread called The Fun Police and sit in there for awhile

Anyways! I would actually be pretty happy if you ran the sim 1000 times and shared your results.

I wonder if the oilers would win the cup even once if you ran the simulator 1000 times?

Best offense vs the best defense?

Would make a hell of a WCF.
