For him I think it was more about proving he belongs in the organization. He's not an everyday NHLer so he won't get claimed, but he showed that he's willing to battle.

He's a Jooris type scenario. Undrafted, hard-working. If he keeps climbing he'll break the roster a year or two.

He was a good recovery signing after a weak draft if I recall correctly.

Elson and Grant are career minor leaguers. I see no upside what so ever in either player. Even if the big club suffers injuries I dont see either getting the call.

I am not hating on the players, if they prove me wrong great but they have a mountain of players ahead of them on the depth chart.

Nothing wrong with stocking the AHL club with a few guys like this. Elson is a hard worker, shows the younger guys what it takes to be a pro. Dont know alot about Grant but he had some good moments in preseason.

Waiver wire will get really interesting in the coming days.
