Seabrook runs to Montreal

Habs acquire Brent Seabrook from Winnipeg, for Jonathan Ericsson and Jake McCabe.

What seemed to come outta nowhere, it got done quickly. A message each way and boom, it was done.

Habs reasoning on this was simple. We land a #1 dman, which gives the team more flexibility to play Brent Burns forward. Also, we can spend the 10mil 3yr deal that would have been offered to Chara, elsewhere.

We really liked Jake McCabe, but giving him up for the 8 pt ov upgrade is something the team had to do. Thanks to dammage79 for the talks.

The Jets felt too much cap was tied up in Seabrook and need to lose some of it to round out their roster in FA. Ericsson is serviceable and McCabe is a move for now and the future.
