Default Sens trade Gryba to Oilers.

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
#Sens trade D-man Eric Gryba to #Oilers for 107th pick and prospect Travis Ewanyk.

The Oilers really don't want to draft any other players this weekend.

Not a bad idea considering how awful their drafting is

Ottawa uses the pick to get that Ahl kid. Cue the "doesn't seem like an NHLer to me" jokes.

this is actually a decent pick up for a 4th rounder.

Isn't Gryba a pretty nasty individual?

Tough guy average or below average player... Basically a Smid replacement who they never should have dealt to begin with. Cheap cost though for an NHLer

Oilers are going to be better everyone. Not scary or anything, but they are only going to get better this year.

It would be quite difficult to be worse, but they do have a lot of practice at it.

Oilers will sure be interesting next year, that's for sure. With McDavid, and a real coach, they shouldn't be in the basement, but their D is still brutal and I'm not sold on Talbot being a true starter yet.

We'll see what Free Agency brings

That's what I thought last year too.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I'll withhold judgement until we see if McLellan can convince the Golden Children to actually play in their own zone.

From a Sens fan on reddit:
"Not sure why Edmonton fans would be excited about this. He's bottom pairing, inconsistent, and often times just a liability when a defensive play is needed most. I'll take the gamble on a pick over Gryba any day."

The greasers defense just got a whole lot slower and dumber with this trade

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

He makes Griffin Reinhart look like Paul Coffey, so that is a good thing

Lowe and McTavish no longer involved in hockey operation and suddenly Chiarelli is trying to fill the holes. What a difference!! I guess now it makes sense why Chiarelli fired their head scout and pretty much the entire scouting department before the draft because they are not planning on drafting players. They would rather trade for the player and give up their draft picks.

G Cam Talbot, D Griffin Reinhart, D Eric Gryba, drafted C Connor McDavid(no choice on this). If they freaking fight for Austin Matthews sweepstakes next season, it means they should just move this sorry-a#€ team somewhere.

I can't be the only one who doesn't love the Oilers moves? Gryba is a bottom pair dman with little to no upside, they gave up essentially 2 firsts for Reinhart who hasn't proven he can play in the NHL, and Talbot had a good 20 game stretch behind an unreal Rangers D. I understand the Oilers were trying to speed up their rebuild but selling off almost all your high draft picks for unproven commodities is not the way to do it in my opinion.
