He was really good in the handful of games I saw last year. Had no clue who he was when I sat in my seats and ended up liking him. Had a limited role last year and you can tell he was adjusting.
Leaves you wanting a bit more, but that's why he was drafted in the 5th. Next season could be huge for hm.

"continue to be impressed by Karnaukhov’s game. He’s a good skater, has a projectable frame and isn’t afraid to generate offence through finesse plays or through size and strength. Still a tad raw but the tools and sense exist here. A comfortable 3rd round player for me right now."

Could be a Ferland.

Well, there goes the easy "what do you know about Calgary" interview question.

really like the Karnaukhov pick. Watched him a lot this season. He is just starting to scratch the surface.

Born in Minsk though, so technically from Belarus, but must have Russian citizenship as well

He was drafted 8th overall in the KHL entry draft 2014. McDavid went 77th in the same draft.
Therefore Karnaukhov > McDavid. We out do the Coilers again.

Story from when the Hitmen drafted him: http://www.calgarysun.com/2014/07/02...l-import-draft
Kharnaukhov was a lot of fun to watch last season. Big, reasonably mobile, has a bit of a mean streak, and good hands. Will be fun to see him develop over the next couple years with the Hitmen and then Stockton.

I like it. I've seen a couple of the Hitmen games and he was pretty impressive.
