Default Ducks trade Wisniewski for Khubodin.

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
The Ducks will get goalie Anton Khubodin from the Carolina Hurricanes in a trade today.... not clear yet what goes the other way

Rumors are that the Oilers are about to acquire Gibson

I'm gonna guess Oilers 1st in 2016 for Gibson.

It would be hilarious is Treliving swept in and snagged him.

If EDM gets Gibson, I'd assume that the Talbot race got less tight and maybe the price got cheaper?

PS. I like Gibson, but he's still pretty untested as a regular #1. Hopefully in EDM he'll get lit up and fail like all their other goalies

Aaron Ward @TSNAaronWard
Hearing trade of Khudobin to Ducks involves Wisniewski coming back to the Hurricanes. #TSN

I wonder what Gibson to the Oilers will do for Gillies' motivation?

I'm not sure I follow? Because Gillies was Gibson's team USA backup at the World Jrs?

Ronny Francis killing it today.

Khudobin, 3rd, 7th out
Lack (starter), Wiz (top 4 dman) in.

Wiz was often a healthy scratch in Anaheim, he's more of a cap dump then a top 4 Dman.

that would be insane. ducks just cleared cap space by trading wesnewski. would probably cost us hudler plus top prospect.

In Anaheim yes he was. Most other teams he's a top 4 dman. Sure they're getting ridding of his salary cuz they won't be playing him and Canes are benefiting from it.

That's a pretty jump from being a healthy scratch against the likes of Clayton Stoner and Sam Vatanen but being top 4 most other places. He's a worse version of Wideman who a lot of us would say should be a #5 PP specialist at times.

Ducks D has Fowler, Beach, Lindholm, Vatanen, Stoner, Despres. Stoner is one of the most under-rated dman, sho plays a defensive game and they had enough offensive guys that they went Stoner over Wiz. You say likes of Vatanen? You say it like he's nothing, he only led them in D scoring during regular season and playoffs.

Against that D, Russell might even have a hard time cracking their lineup.

Wiz's recurring knee issues are a problem...loved the guy with the 'Hawks, his health will be a limiting factor.

Could the Flames be in on Gibson? Granlund +?

I'd do that. We have too many NHL ready forward prospects. I'd love to swap one or more to improve goaltending.

I really can't see the Ducks trading Gibson, but if they do I can't believe they would deal him to a division rival. Seems so unlikely, as it could backfire hard on them.
