New home furnace question
Hi all,
The house we bought last year is a new build with a forced air furnace (heat and AC). The system has a single thermostat located on the main floor, and it's a two story home with a developed basement.
As far as standard practices for new furnaces, are duct dampers typically part of the install by default in this climate? Running into issues where the basement is always too cold (especially during the winter) and now with the weather warming up, the AC doesn't seem to reach the upstairs too well. The vent covers are mostly built into the hardwood and cannot be closed, so short of stuffing old clothing in each vent I have no way to direct the flow of air.
I've got a few concerns about the quality of the furnace install, so I'll probably call out another company to do an inspection of the work as well, but wanted to get people's thoughts on here.
Any info appreciated!
