Back in the good ol' 80's, one of the local radio stations (either AM 1060 or Excel Radio) had done up a rendition of Sly Fox's song Let's Go All The Way called Flames Go All The Way for one of the playoff runs. I've been scouring the net trying to find a digital copy of it. Anyone know if a digital copy exists?
It's the battle of Alberta. They're trying to work it out. Hunter and Semenko, make the fans scream and shout.
Otto to Mullen, pass to Peplinski.
Flames go all the way, flames go all the way.

It was played on AM106. Good luck in your quest.
I also remember a post-BofA version, that was about playing St. Louis and made lots of reference to beating Edmonton. There must've been a Finals version too, but that's lost to the mists of time. I really hope this tune turns up somewhere.

I remember that song too. I taped it off the radio. Remember when us kids had to do that? Wait for sometimes hours before it came on. Kids are so spoliled today. One click on ITunes and it's on their computer. There was also another song called "Go flames Go for the cup"(or something along those line) it ripped off the Pointer Sister song called, Jump.
Remember when we used to have to go see real live musicians play? Kids are so spoiled today. They just turn on a little box and they can listen to music wherever they are. And they can make a copy to listen to any time, on a cassette tape!
"Flames Go All The Way" aired on CKXL by DJ Gary James and The James Gang, which was composed of myself, my brother and a few of my friends. We wrote it during the first round of the 1986 playoffs.
A few months before that, we were talking to Gary James while the CKXL Funbus was on location at McMahon Stadium during the "Save Our Stamps" campaign in which the franchise almost folded. We wrote a parody of the Chicago Bears Shuffle called "We're Called The Stamps" in 15 minutes and performed it live on the air. After that, he asked if we could do the same for the Flames during the playoffs.
Anyways, it's interesting to note that the "C of Red" was created during that 1986 Playoff run. I'm honestly not sure who the first one was to mention it, but while we were in the CKXL Funbus outside the Saddledome, before Game 1 vs the Blues, someone told Gary James to tell people over the radio to wear "red" and create a sea of red.

It started during the round against the Oilers.
The Oilers were telling people to wear hats to their games for "Hat Trick Fever" because they were trying to win their third straight Cup, so someone suggested the Flames do a Sea of Red. I'm not sure who made the original suggestion, but I think it was someone on the CBC broadcast (I think it may have been Don Whitman, but I'm not positive about that).

Any chance it could be digitized and posted online? That is the very best of all Flames songs.
Do you have anything to do with the Stamps song, When the going gets tough, the Stamps get going? That is the SOS song I remember.
Unfortunately, the tape and tape player I have sucks. Guess it's been almost 30 years. But, I still have the VHS music video that we made. We were still in high school and got credit for the song towards Language Arts.
So, if my VHS still works, I can upload the song today or tomorrow.
