Poirier assigned to Adirondack
per the AHL transactions page.
http://theahl.com/stats/transactions...&f_team_id=400
not surprising as he wasn't getting into NHL games

Are all AHL recalls used up now, or do we have one left?

Think we have one left. This is for the best, seems like he wasn't going to get into a game any time soon.

So if we use all 4 of our recalls from the AHL we have to use an emergency recall which would give us the option of calling up Bennett potentially?

No.
The CHL emergency call up rule is you have to be on your 3rd emergency recall before you can recall a player from major junior.
An emergency recall is when you recall a player because you can't dress at least 12 forwards, 6 d-men and 2 goalies. The Flames would have to go through a lot of injuries before they get to the point where they can recall Bennett.

Enjoy the Johnny/Monahan show this year, and spread the Bennett fun out to next season.

The 4th recall if used will be a defenseman... likely Wotherspoon in the event they decide to Schlemko sucks and don't want to play Potter (or someone gets hurt).
If a goalie is needed they could do an emergency call-up and there isn't really anyone down in ADK that would be a big upgrade on the forwards in the press box.

Happy Poirier will be playing hockey again.
In some weird twist, the way he's been used the past three weeks it will actually be easier to get excited about him as a prospect down on the farm than on the big team. (Press Box).
I hope he uses his experience, training and studying with the Flames to go back to the AHL and dominate. Kinda like Bennett has done.
Go Emile! We need you to become a top-6 winger for our Stanley Cup run in 2016-2017 !! ;-)

Poirier was insurance, but with Byron on the way back, he has another body in front of him in the pecking order. This may also mean that Jooris and Shore are not too banged up

I think Poirier is a player that could use more time in the AHL with top line minutes and situations. Come up on a call up basis next year and perhaps stick as a middle six winger by mid-year.

He looked decent in his time here but certainly could use more seasoning in the AHL. Hopefully he learned about what it takes to stick in the NHL and he has a big summer and pushes for a spot in the fall

I hope he is mentally stronger than Sven and doesn't feel entitled.
My guess is that he will have a good attitude about it. Wasn't he projected to be a 2nd rounder, but then got drafted in the first? I suspect guys like that are more grateful for chances.

Rumor was Montreal wanted to take him @ 25. Can't imagine they're happy with Michael McCarron, the consolation prize.

He looked great in taht game against the Flyers. Not sure what he did the game after to get benched, but he's better off in the AHL for now.

I am glad they sent him down to Adirondack so he can still get more experience. I think he did okay but obviously he still need more experience playing professional hockey. Sitting around or playing on 4th line won't do him any good. Maybe next season or so.
